"ALONE"
By Lisa Garner
Over the years we have grown to 12 members and we have spent many hours enthusiastically discussing a wide variety of books from "His Excellency George Washington" by Joseph Ellis to " The Shell Seekers " by Rosamunde Pilcher .
Our goal is simply to sustain the joy of fellowship through reading and sharing one's ideas of the content of the book.
Members take turns to host meetings once every 4-6 weeks. Meetings begin in the home at 7.30pm. with a discussion prompted by prepared questions followed by light refreshments.
Books are chosen freely by alternating members. Each member is encouraged to bring a friend who may be looking for fellowship and discussion of a recently read book. It is not necessary to be a member of the church to join.
Ther are no dues.
We end the year witha celebration dinner at a nearby restaurant.
The benefits and joy of belonging to a group with shared interests have well been demonstrated over the years.
For further information please call Carol Rogner at (718) 640-2099 at the monthly book discussion.
The Book Club was formed in 2001 by a member of Grace Church for fellowship and to inspire church members and friends to reawaken their joy of reading.
